Hydrogeologist/Engineer/Project Manager Water Resources - Full Time and Part Time

Are you a critical thinker and independent self-starter with a background in water resources planning and permitting? Are you ready to take your five to seven years of project experience to the next level of northwest water consulting? Do you like an interesting mix of fieldwork, office work and client interaction? If so then CwM-H2O is ready for you. We have a full-time position open for a project manager that can keep projects on task and on budget while working closely with support staff, senior consultants and clients.

This full-time position is for a project manager that works with senior technical staff to deliver water resource projects and mentors junior staff in field collection, analysis, writing and presentation of data. Typical projects include water management and conservation planning, water rights evaluations and transactions, hydrogeologic evaluation, water supply development of groundwater and surface water systems, environmental assessment, natural resource assessment, storm water and other permitting projects to meet client expectations.

Required Qualifications:

  • BA or BS degree in Engineering, Geology, Hydrology, Biology, Environmental Science or equivalent, an MS degree is preferred

  • Approximately 5 to 7 years of experience in environmental or natural resources consulting or agency experience

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English

  • Valid drivers’ license

  • Ability to travel and conduct field work in all weather conditions and traverse streams, forests, construction sites, etc… for up to 20% of the time.

  • Applicants must be eligible for legal employment and available to work in the United States

In addition to the minimum requirements, CwM-H2O presents the following list of desired skills for all candidate’s consideration.

  • Experience in water supply, water rights, GIS, drilling observation, land use permitting, and natural resource permitting

  • Computer modeling of hydraulics, groundwater, or water quality modeling

  • Training in project management skills, software and/or equivalent experience

  • Experience with data recording instruments for water levels and remote instrumentation

  • Experience with water quality data as it relates to the natural environment, storm water regulations, and drinking water standards.

  • Ability to work with technical and administrative team members in a supportive, enthusiastic, and positive manner

  • Experience with cost estimates for engineered infrastructure (pipelines, pumps, wells, water treatment)

  • An attitude focused on efficiency, excitement for learning, and client service

Office/Project Assistant - Part Time

Are you a motivated individual that has been out of the professional work forces for a while? A very proficient office manager and organizer, that maybe did not get all the way through college but are a rockstar at knowing what to do and getting it done? Or maybe you have been working full-time on family, have taken a different course in life, or education, and are ready to get back into an interesting office work setting on part-time basis (10- to 20-hours a week). We are looking for that person who is confident in their skill set and ready to jump in and help wherever they can make a difference.

CwM-H2O seeks a detail-oriented part-time Office/Project Assistant to work directly with our project managers and management staff to support teams by executing a wide variety of organizational and administrative tasks including back-office work to prepare invoices, project filing, social media updates, and light bookkeeping with QuickBooks. Optimally this candidate would be working three or four 5-hour days a week with some flexibility depending on office workload and the applicant’s skill set.

Responsibilities:

  • General team support including proofreading, reproduction, and project file management.

  • Scheduling project meetings and arranging meeting logistics.

  • Word processing/formatting of letters, proposals, specifications, contracts, and other documents.

  • Excel processing/formatting of spreadsheets, data entry, tracking budgets.

  • Manage mail received and date incoming correspondence.

  • Assisting with tracking, modifying, and coordination of contract agreements.

  • Coordinate travel arrangements for the firm’s staff.

  • Designated backup for phone coverage.

Qualifications

  • Relevant experience in a similar role and/or experience working in an environmental consulting, engineering, or architecture firm preferred.

  • Bachelor’s degree in an area of natural resources preferred. An Associate’s degree in business or geographic information systems, or similar is also acceptable.

  • Attention to accuracy and detail. Responsible for the overall quality of work produced.

  • Capable of working both independently and as part of a team.

  • Superior organizational skills.

  • Must be articulate and well-spoken.

  • Excellent written communication skills including spelling and grammar.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel required.

  • Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, PowerPoint, GIS Mapping, and Microsoft Project or Smartsheets preferred.

  • Light bookkeeping in QuickBooks On-Line also preferred.

  • Oregon driver’s license.
